▍Long-term retention ofskilled foreign workers program-Permitting foreign nationals to work intermediate skilled jobs

Eligibility

•Foreign workers must have worked in Taiwan continuously for 6 years or more, worked for the same employer for an accumulated 6 years or more or worked for an accumulated 11 years and six months or more

•Overseas compatriot and foreign students who earn an associate degree or above

Applicable industries

Industries that face a shortage of labor, including ocean fishing work, manufacturing work, construction work, agricultural work (limited to outreach agricultural work, orchids, edible mushrooms and vegetables) and care work

Technical qualifications

•Industry sector:Must meet any of the qualifications regarding professional certificates, training programs, or practical implementation

This requirement is waived:Regular monthly salary of NT$35,000 or above

•Social welfare sector:Must pass a language exam in Taiwan and complete 20 hours of education/training

This requirement is waived:Care home workers-Regular monthly salary of NT$31,000 or above / Live-in caregivers-Total monthly salary of NT$26,000 or above

Salary qualifications

•Industry sector

Regular monthly salary of NT$33,000 or above(a salary of at least NT$30,000 for overseas compatriot and foreign students who are first-time hires, but if they continue to be employed it rises to NT$33,000)or an annual salary of NT$500,000 or above

•Social welfare sector

1. Care home workers:Regular monthly salary of NT$29,000 or above

2. Live-in caregivers:Total monthly salary of NT$24,000 or above
