In Taiwan the law forbids labor brokerages from charging foreign workers “labor costs.” It is illegal for a broker to charge a worker to continue employment or transfer work.
How are legal costs calculated?
Labor brokerages are only allowed to charge employers reasonable registration and referral fees. In addition, those fees cannot be more than one month of the foreign worker’s salary and workers cannot be charged any additional fees.
If you are illegally charged fees call the 1955 Hotline and file a complaint. Do not let law-breaking labor brokerages exploit you.
