The “rapid test” is used to conduct quickly mass testing and identify “suspected positive cases” of COVID-19, though it is also best if we can correctly eliminate negative cases. Generally, a test result can be provided within 15 minutes and as such the main function of rapid tests is to quickly separate those infected which combined with isolation reduces the probability of virus transmission. The Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test is used to more precisely confirm or overturn the result of the initial rapid test.
